The Museum of Sonoma County \welcomes visitors to explore the area’s history and contemporary art. The museum opened as the Sonoma County Museum in 1985. It is situated in a National Register of Historic Places-listed historic post office from 1910. The Museum is within walking distance of the Old Courthouse Square and Downtown Santa Rosa SMART Train station. Two buildings, a sculpture park, and multiple galleries are on the Seventh Street campus.

Approximately 12 to 15 art and history exhibitions rotate annually to guarantee that there is always something new to see at the museum. The Museum of Sonoma County welcomes approximately 20,000 visitors through general admission, school programs, public programs, tours, and special events. Furthermore, the Museum has a permanent collection of approximately 18,000 pieces that commemorate the region’s illustrious history and honor regional artists.
