Rohnert Park is a city located in Sonoma County, California, United States. It is situated in the Northern part of the San Francisco Bay Area and is located approximately 50 miles (80 km) north of San Francisco. The population of the city was 40,971 at the 2010 census.

Rohnert Park is situated on the rolling hills of the Santa Rosa Plain, between the cities of Santa Rosa, Cotati, and Petaluma. It is a relatively small city, covering an area of 6.9 square miles (18 km2). To the west, the city borders the towns of Cotati and Penngrove and to the east, the city borders Sebastopol. To the north, the city is bounded by the Sonoma County Regional Park and to the south, the city is bounded by the Petaluma River.

The climate of Rohnert Park is similar to the rest of the San Francisco Bay Area, with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. The average daily high temperature during the summer months is between 70-80°F (21-27°C), with the daily low temperature ranging from 55-65°F (13-18°C). During the winter months, the average daily high temperature is between 50-60°F (10-15°C) and the average daily low temperature is between 40-50°F (4-10°C).

Rohnert Park is situated on a ridge of the Mayacamas Mountains, which are part of the California Coast Ranges. These mountains are part of the larger California Coast Ranges, which run from the Pacific Coast of California up to the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
