St. Francis Winery & Vineyards is a family-owned, Certified Sustainable Winery, and all through its history have strived to conserve Sonoma County’s natural resources. In 1999, the Winery was modernized and equipped with a 457-kilowatt solar energy system. St. Francis Winery & Vineyards have been honored for protecting the adjacent waterways and rivers. St. Francis Winery & Vineyards’ wines have reflected the greatest mountain and valley vineyards in Sonoma County for over 50 years. Joe Martin, who founded St. Francis Vineyard in 1971, fell in love with Sonoma Valley and planted 22 acres of Chardonnay and the first 60 acres of Merlot in Sonoma Valley. After enjoying considerable success as a grower, Joe and his business partner Lloyd Canton established their own winery in 1979.

The magnificent Tasting Room of the Winery is located in the center of Sonoma Valley, surrounded by estate vineyards. The bell tower contains a bronze bell weighing 1,000 pounds that were made in Italy by the Marinelli Foundry. The hourly chimes are heard over the entire valley.
The owners commit themselves to showcase the best of Sonoma which extends to their Tasting Room, which pairs their topnotch wines with the most spectacular view in Sonoma Valley, as well as to the ZAGAT-recommended Wine & Food Pairing, which has received international fame from thousands of patrons and was voted “#1 in America” by Open Table diners in 2013 and 2015.
In 2012, the owners developed a 2-acre Estate Garden, providing their chef with access to fresh fruits, herbs, and vegetables that are produced near their kitchen. This provides visitors with an incredible farm-to-table Wine & Food Pairing experience in the heart of Sonoma Valley.
The winery offers Trolley Tours, Vineyard Adventures, Tasting Flights, Group Tastings, and Virtual Wine Tastings.
