If you want to spruce up your smile, we request you visit our dental clinic and opt for professional teeth whitening. This less-invasive procedure can be performed in one sitting only.

How Does Teeth Whitening Work?

As the name suggests, this procedure makes your teeth appear whiter. The accumulation of plaque, tartar, calculus and other substances often steal the whiteness of your teeth, thereby causing discoloration. During your appointment, we use bleaching and non-bleaching whitening products and apply them on your teeth to whiten them. The whitening formula of these products removes all the stains, thus retaining your white smile.

Most of these bleaching products comprise hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide and remove surface and deep stains. Many studies have suggested that professional teeth whitening can make your smile look eight shades lighter.

What Does The Procedure Include?

  • We start with using a tooth shade chart to find out the current shade of your teeth and then decide how lighter you want your teeth to become after the procedure.
  • We will polish your teeth to remove plaque.
  • Now, the product (bleaching or non-bleaching) will be applied to the surface of your teeth. Before doing it, we will place a barrier on your gum line to ensure that the whitening product doesn’t touch it.
  • We will leave the whitening agent for an hour and use light activation to activate the whitening process.
  • After the process is complete, we will rinse your mouth. If required, we will also apply fluoride to mitigate sensitivity.
  • Once the procedure is complete, we will also provide you with whitening trays and whitening strips to use at home to maintain the whiteness of your teeth.

What is the Aftercare of Teeth Whitening?

It is essential to care for your teeth properly to maintain your pearly white smile in the long run. Apart from using whitening trays and strips, you should include brushing and flossing twice a day in your routine. We also advise you to use a mouth rinse or mouthwash after your meals not to let the plaque or tartar accumulate on your teeth. Mouth rinse also keeps bad breath at bay. Visit our clinic twice a year for professional teeth whitening as a part of cosmetic care.
