The Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center is a museum devoted to the comic strip creator Charles M. Schulz. The museum is a nonprofit organization that opened in Santa Rosa, California on August 17, 2002, 2 years after Schulz’s death. The museum aims to provide depth to the hilarious pages created by Charles M. Schulz through the conservation, exhibit, and understanding of his Peanuts comic strip.

The Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center house numerous original Peanuts strips as well as other Schulz artwork. The Great Hall is dominated by 2 paintings by Japanese artist Yoshiteru Otani: a 3.5-ton wood sculpture showing the evolution of Snoopy and a 22-foot-tall ceramic mosaic consisting of 3,588 Peanuts strips that form the image of Lucy van Pelt handing Charlie Brown the football to kick. Permanent exhibitions at the museum include a painting by Christo depicting Snoopy’s doghouse wrapped, Schulz’s personal studio, an exhibition of foreign language versions of Peanuts books, and tributes to Schulz by other artists. There are 3 galleries featuring exhibits that rotate annually within the museum.
