South Park is a residential area in the California city of Santa Rosa. It comprises 60 blocks in south Santa Rosa, east of U.S. Highway 101, south of Bennett Valley Road, and west of the Sonoma County Fairgrounds. The neighborhood is renowned for its historic homes and creative murals, as well as its history of above-average crime rates and gang activity. In the middle of the 20th century, South Park was a settlement for African Americans and the epicenter of Santa Rosa’s Black community. The neighborhood is predominantly Latino today, with roughly 1,500 inhabitants.
